This weblog started as the online documentation of series of experiments on the usage of digital media in public space. The experiments were conducted as part of my Ph.D at the Institute of Media and Communications Management at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

After submitting my dissertation in June 2008 I will continue to blog about Interactive Displays in Public Space and interactive Digital Signage from a more general perspective.
Experimental Survey
The experiments were based on the interactive media-façade Magical Mirrors. Magical Mirrors transmits the tradition of the magic mirror from the annual fair to the world of the digital media.

This installation is the third project played on the media-facade of the SAP-agency in Berlin-Mitte. This becomes a magic mirror, through which the observer can enter the virtual reality. The four main displays in the ground floor represent the central point of the installation, which ranges on the whole projection surface of the building. Magical Mirrors invites the observer to play in front of and with the mirror.
